How to complete the quizzes ?

Throughout Face IT you’ll be asked to fill out quizzes or answer questions. The information you provide is for your own benefit, so that you can get an idea of how you’re doing and track your progress. Face IT can also give feedback on your scores. The scores will also be stored in a database that only the team who gave you access to Face IT can see (this is so that we can check that you’re not finding the program too difficult.)

You don’t have to answer the questions and on the quizzes you can feel free to miss answers out. But remember that the feedback you’re given is based on you giving answers to all the questions. If you miss out questions, the feedback won’t be that accurate.

Anxiety

The question below asks you to rate your anxiety levels on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is not anxious at all and 10 is really very anxious.

Take some time to really think about the kind of person you are and whether you often experience anxiety.

1 = Not anxious at all | 10 = Very anxious

If you scored 1-3, it’s unlikely that this is causing you a problem.

If you scored between 4-7, although not necessarily a problem, you may find some of the techniques in Face IT will help you to reduce your anxiety and help you enjoy meeting people and going out.

If you scored 8-10, your score indicates high levels of anxiety. This is an area that may be causing you difficulty, and if it hasn’t already, it could make you avoid stressful situations. This is what Face IT is here for. The program will help you to reduce your anxiety and help you enjoy meeting people and going out.

Thank you for completing all the questions. They will help you to identify problem areas you need to work on.

In the final session of this program you’ll have a chance to go back over these questions and see whether there has been any improvement.

Congratulations you’ve completed the quiz for Session 1

Today we’ve looked at:

  • Examples of common problems experienced by people in similar situations to you – you are not alone.
  • Why appearance is such a big issue in our society.
  • Why some people can react negatively to people with a visible difference and how that might make you feel if it happens to you.
  • Examples of what helps people cope well with a visible difference and what might make things worse.
  • You’ve completed a quiz to help you see how much you’re bothered by your appearance, how anxious you get and how sad or depressed it makes you feel. You’ll be able to go back to see your answers to these questions at the end of the program.
  • Next time we’ll be looking at social skills (how we behave when we’re with other people) and how you can improve your social skills so that you can deal with difficult social situations.
